What Is an EVSE Charger (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment)?

• Level 1 Charger (Small Faucet)
  Comes standard with most electric vehicles and is plugged into any normal outlet. Though Level 1 chargers requires no installation, they charge vehicle batteries very slowly.

• Level 2 Charger (Large Faucet)

  This more advanced EVSE charger requires its own dedicated 240-volt circuit. These needs to be professionally installed by an electrician like Bentz Electric. Level 2 chargers work much faster, fully charging your EV in about three hours.

• Level 3 Charger (Fire Hose!)
  This is the standalone device you see at public charging stations. It can add 160 miles of driving range to an EV’s batteries in about half an hour. These however are very expensive and require more power than is capable at a home. At most homes these are unavailable to homeowners.
